Start with the claim
Write down the exact statement you are trying to verify. Keep brand names, legal entities, domains, license numbers and social accounts separate until primary sources connect them.
Build an evidence chain
Prefer official registries, regulator records, corporate filings and first-party disclosures. Secondary commentary can provide leads but should not substitute for a primary record where one exists.
Record uncertainty
A missing record is not automatically proof of wrongdoing. Document what you searched, where you searched, the date of the search and what remains unresolved.
Re-check material facts
Licenses, domains, ownership and operating status can change. High-impact conclusions should be refreshed whenever the underlying evidence changes.
